Vincent Rakoczy
Vincent Rakoczy’s investigative experience began in 1970 as a member of the Suffolk County, New York Police Department, where he was responsible for investigating crimes and performing other police duties. In 1994 and 1995 he successfully completed basic and advanced training in Computer Forensic Analysis and Seized Computer Evidence Recovery at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) located in Glynco, Georgia. Since graduating from FLETC, he has continued to remain proficient by attending yearly seminars and conferences offered by various law enforcement and private industry organizations.
Prior to his service retirement in July 2000, Mr. Rakoczy was assigned to the Computer Crime Section of the police department where he was responsible for investigating computer-related crimes, seizing computer systems, performing forensic analysis and providing expert testimony in criminal proceedings. During that time he seized many computer systems, performed forensic imaging and analysis on over 250 computer hard disks and other electronic media. His investigations and analyses of electronic media are responsible for uncovering evidence and providing investigative leads in cases of child pornography, homicide, identity theft, aggravated harassment, sex offenses, violations of labor laws, and theft of proprietary information.
Upon retiring from the police department, Mr. Rakoczy began working for Cablevision Systems Corporation located in Bethpage, New York. As a Corporate Investigator and Computer Forensic Specialist, he was responsible for investigations, seizing computer systems and performing forensic analysis of electronic media. During his tenure at Cablevision, he performed forensic analysis on an estimated 130 computer hard disks.
Mr. Rakoczy is a member of the High Technology Crime Investigations Association (HTCIA) – Northeast Chapter and the International Association of Financial Crimes Investigators (IAFCI).
